Realization

The difference between being poor and rich is so significant. Clearly, its not a thin line that separates one from another, but a huge milestone. Sadly, being average or above average is never going to be enough. You can call it greed, you can say having a happy family is much better. But the simple fact is, with money, EVERYONE will be happy.

To be rich, you've either got to be born in one hell of a wealthy family, or create a legacy for yourself. Sadly, the latter doesn't happen to most people. So what happens is, we all dream to become like them. We start working and working and trying to make more money to spend and give ourselves a much more comfortable life. But in reality, ( or for Singapore rather ) we end up working for the purpose of clearing our loans, credits and other whatnot expenses. Which means we're just slowly trying to climb of the the manhole we've fallen into. It so damn true when they say, The rich get richer and the poor get even poorer.

If i was that rich, i would have the BUYING power. I would get an iphone without even considering the price and whether i need to work for it, or how long i need to save for it. If i had my class 3 license, I would just go ahead and purchase a fancy sports car. Most people will say " ai ya, his father rich what. Lao peh's car. He useless one, depend on the father. " Believe me, it's just pure fucking sour grapes. Who wouldn't want to be born into a rich family.

I knew a friend who once said this " If money can solve the problem, then it is not a problem." 99% of the time, it's really that true. For instance, I'm in the hospital now, staying in a B2 ward. And i have to use the general population toilet. Trust me, it sucks big time. I saw pieces of undigested vegetable leaves all over the toilet bowl. It was awfully smelly. I just couldn't get into the right comfort zone to release my bowels. This is the problem. With money, I can just easily check into a A class ward and have my own personal freaking toilet. Problem would be solved then. If the fucker who owes me money pays up, there wouldn't be problems for her after i discharge. So yeah....

This money problem has really been a part of our lives since we were infants. Why so? If you're well to do, you get higher quality milk power, the best baby clothes, toys, pampers, and the list goes on. Other wise, you're just gonna be stuck with sucking on your mum's tits, wearing nappys ( those cloth ones ) , biting on the same toy all the way till you're teeth comes out. I must say im pretty fortunate to not to be like the latter.

Then when we become kids, its comes to the comparison of toys we play with. I know of rich bastards who played with gameboys, sega saturn and the latest power rangers when it hits the markets. This may be very stereotypical, but the poorer kids play with hand downed toys, stuff toys, marbles and spiders. How sad isn't it. I'm sure everyone would want to have the best.

When we go to primary school, secondary school and etc, with money, you can definitely pay your way through the backdoor to enter the ELITE schools of Singapore. My ex-neighbour's parents paid quite a hefty sum to ACS to allow their son inside. So without money and a not so good education, one is gonna end up in a neighbourhood school, and the chance of mixing with the wrong company is even higher. Of course in the elite school, the rich and rich will always have their own little competition over their parents salary, the size of the houses and the kind of cars their parents own. But that aside. I've seen people wearing the same uniform for years, when others change theirs like they change their underwear. I look at such people with empathy. Wouldn't it be better if everyone was given the same amount of wealth.

Then at the tertiary level, some go to poly, some go Jc some go ITE. What if the person is rich but fails his O Levels. With that sort of money, he can avoid the " humiliation " and go to some private school, probably SIM? HAHA, rather than going to ITE. But of course, each route has it's own pros and cons. This is just a very vague example between the rich and poor.

You know, the comparisons just go on and on. It will just go on till we pass on. For instance, who has a better coffin or grander funeral procession.

At the end of the day, I just wanna thank my parents for giving me everything in their means since my birth till now. I really love them alot.
